Zany art? Primitives? Digital art? Quilts? They're all in a day's
work (and play) for Aisling D'Art.
Aisling is a third-generation artist working primarily with fiber and
oil paint. She creates art in her personal journals, too. Aisling's
name (pronounced "ASH-ling") is a reflection of her Irish heritage,
which is as evident in her art, in her dry humor, and in her
appearance.
By the mid-1990s, Aisling had embraced the Internet. She was one of
the very first to publish an online diary, long before anyone had
thought of "blogs."
She is active in several online communities. These include Yahoo
Groups such as Artists Journals2, Wild Art Dolls, and AJ marketing,
all of which she founded. In 2007, she formed AJ2-artistsway, an
online community of artists working through the book, The Artist's
Way.
In mid-2006, Aisling divided her huge primary website, Aisling.net,
into six smaller sites. Each one focuses on subjects as diverse as
mail art, cloth dolls, art marketing, and book reviews. (All of her
websites are linked from Aisling.net.)
