Darren Scott is one of Australia's leading origami artists. His designs have been included in specialist publications in Australia, the UK and the USA.
Darren has also undertaken a number of public commissions, the most recent of which being the Crane exhibit at Melbourne's premier exhibition space
Federation Square which he and fellow artist, Matt Gardner, undertook to commemorate World Peace Day in August 2006. He is also the artist
responsible for creating the Kleenex sandpaper duckling and the BPAY Dinosaur Campaign. His group exhibits include The Dinosaur project
and Origami House (his original idea) at www.papercrane.org.
Darren's love of origami began 20 years ago when his grandfather first introduced him to the craft. He, too, has been active in passing on this
tradition to future generations of origami enthusiasts. He is one of the founders of the Melbourne Origami group and has held memberships with
Origami USA, the British Origami Society and the Japanese Academic Origami Society.
Originally from country town of Benella, Victoria, Darren now lives in the coastal city of Geelong.
