Petra has been teaching workshops using polymer clay for more than fifteen years and is recognized for her knowledge and expertise in this field.
Petra’s first career, long before discovering polymer clay, was as a jeweler. A foray into the field of antiques and collectibles nurtured her passion for art deco design. In 1992 Petra rediscovered the medium she had used as a child and in doing so opened a door onto a new career as a polymer clay bead maker and jewelry designer.
In 1996 she gained world recognition for her trademark beads when she was accepted as one of 12 successful winners in the first international polymer clay bead exhibition. Since then Petra has addressed numerous polymer clay guild meetings in the USA, Britain and Wales. She frequently facilitates classes in Australia and her homeland, New Zealand.
Petra operates the business Zig Zag Polymer Clay in New Zealand. Her work appears in polymer clay books and magazines.
